Hi there! Welcome to the Luke & Ashley blog, a journal about our lives, our beautiful couples, and their stories we get to tell. Stay a while and do say hello if you please!
The threat of rain has been like a permanent thing over here in the Hampton Roads area. I look at my phone and all I see are thunderstorms predicted for days and days ahead. This was the case for Mark and Jade’s wedding. I remember calling her a few days before and us trying to decide how we were going to orchestrate their day in spite of the rain threat. If you live in this area then you know that you really just cannot plan too ahead because the weather is constantly changing and just because they say there is rain on the radar doesn’t mean anything!
I told Jade that we will make the call the day of wedding. That was really all we could do. We had a lot of variables to consider including the commute to the ceremony so it would be easier to make the call the day of.
As we arrived to the Hilton in Virginia Beach our eyes were on the skies. The dark clouds loomed over us and I knew that whatever we decided to do we had to work quickly! Luckily for us the rain kept holding off for us! It was such a relief!
By making the decision to do a First Look, not only were a lot of the nerves subsided, but we were able to do most of the portraits beforehand with the couple and the bridal party! This was such a great decision on their part because later that evening the rain poured down and we would have been forced to most of their portraits inside instead of at Red Wing Park where Jade had wanted.
Despite the all the variables that played into their day, these two had a smooth and amazing day full of love and celebration!
Jade is not only absolutely stunning, she is one of the most sweetest and kindest souls I have met. I love being around her as she can brighten any room she is in. Mark is just as sweet and amazing. I love that these two found each other and I love that they are now husband and wife.
Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Eves. You two were incredible to work with. We absolutely adore you both and we wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
