Hi there! Welcome to the Luke & Ashley blog, a journal about our lives, our beautiful couples, and their stories we get to tell. Stay a while and do say hello if you please!
These two met at William and Mary awhile back and Luke and it made sense for them to return to Williamsburg for their wedding day. With their friends and family surrounding the two, Mark and Caroline had an incredible celebration at Two Rivers Country Club overlooking the James River.
The bride and groom opted to get ready with their bridal parties in the colonial homes in the heart of Williamsburg. These homes have so much history and character and it was so much shooting in them! When we arrived Caroline was so full of joy and anticipation! Her smile literally lit up the room and once she put her dress on and the finishing touches, she was an absolute stunning bride.
Mark had the tears flowing once he began to read the letter from his bride. I wasn’t there but looking through the pictures that Luke took, my eyes began to fill. Knowing these two, you just know that they are crazy about one another and seeing Mark so touched by Carolines words, even in the pictures was so touching.
Virginia summers are humid with lots of freak storms that roll in at a moments notice. As we were starting to shoot the girls outside rain started to come down and we had to rush back indoors. Watching the radar we knew that it was about to come down! And it did! Throughout the day we got some mixed showers and storms and then it would clear up like it never rained! Despite the rain, these two had an incredibly beautiful day! The sunset at Two Rivers was the icing on the cake! Luke and I were not sure if we were going to be able to take these two out for sunset photos, but we made it work and those pictures were EVERYTHING! I am so glad Mark and Caroline trusted us to break away and get those photos.
If your a bride and possible bad weather is giving you anxiety, you can always read how we handle rainy day weddings!
There were so many sweet moments that Mark and Caroline had throughout the day. As mentioned before, the letters they gave one another, the first look with her dad, the moment she looked at herself in the mirror and seeing herself as a bride. Then Mark had to go and serenade her at the reception and we all were crying and grinning ear to ear. So many sweet moments. But even all that doesn’t top the love that was so tangent in that room that night. The love for the couple and the love for one another. Mark and Caroline have this incredible gift to make all those around them feel loved and feel like family. And that was everything.
Thank you to the new Mr. & Mrs. We absolutely adore you both and we are honored that we got to tell your story through our eyes. We love you two and we wish you a lifetime of love and happiness. Continue being you and together you two are going to do some amazing things together!
