When we arrived into Richmond I told Luke that we couldnt’ have asked for a better day. Â The sun was shining and the skies were blue. Â Despite the heat, it was going to be such a great day celebrating Kevin and Lauren at the Mainstreet Station in downtown Richmond. Â We met up with the bride and groom at a local hotel nearby and immediately got started. Â I told Lauren that the room was so relaxed and she was such a calm and chill bride. Â I loved it and I loved watching her smile big as she put on her gown in anticipation.
Lauren’s dress was so lovely! Â It fit her perfectly. Â What I loved most about it was that she purchased a skirt to overlay the dress so that she could have two dresses in one. Â She wore the skirt at the cathedral and then took it off at the reception. Â She said the skirt was the 5 year old girl in her dressing up her barbies and dreaming about her wedding day. Â I absolutely loved it and am so glad she did it! Â What a great idea!
This church is where the two said their vows. Â The cathedral is a Virginia historic landmark and over 100 years old. Â The church is absolutely breathtaking when you walk inside and it was absolutely perfect for Kevin and Lauren.
As I was editing the pictures, I fell in love with the one of the little flower girl sitting on the steps looking up at the bride and groom. Â All day she was entranced by all things wedding. Â She loved her shoes, her dress, and of course she took her job very seriously. Â So watcing her reminded me of when I was a little girl and how I myself dreamed of my own wedding day. Â She was such a cutie and it is probably one of my favorite pictures.
About a year ago, some friends introduced us to the Richmond capital building and we were obsessed! Â We did their headshots there and I couldn’t get enought of this place! Â When Lauren mentioned she wanted to do some bride and groom portraits there I might have squealed inside because this building and area is gorgeous. We did however, hit the building when it was at its’ hottest. Â So we didn’t spend too long there, but the portraits we did get there were worth the heat! Â We were in full sun and with the blue skies above them, it was perfect!
We drive to Richmond quite a bit more often it seems and we always pass the Main Street Station. Â I had always wondered what it looked like inside and the two newlyweds gave us that opportunity. Â This venue is grand and doesn’t need much decor because it is so beautiful. Â With the Bachelor Boys Band playing some mo town music, the party never stopped.
Thank You Kevin and Lauren for being such an incredibly fun couple. Â We absolutely loved hanging out and celebrating with you and your families! Â We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness and we hope you both have an incredible honeymoon!
