We have lived in Virginia for 10 years and have never really spent time in DC. We would drive through but never stopped to enjoy all that that the wonderful city has to offer.
Well that all changed when some our good friends transferred up there. They invited us to spend Thanksgiving and of course I had to jump on this opportunity!
We are so blessed to have these friends in our lives that would open their home to us and bless us and treat us as part of their family. We love them all so much!
So we didn’t take many pictures. In fact none on Thanksgiving! I was just so busy cooking and Luke was being Tech support so no pictures that day. 🙁 However, I must say Thanksgiving dinner was AWESOME! 3 women in the kitchen and no drama! Woo Hoo! That is victory right there! And the food was AMAZING!
We were blessed that evening as our friends volunteered to watch the kids while we go and see Catching Fire! Another score! Loved the movie and am eagerly waiting for the next one!
The next day we went and visited the zoo with the kids as well as the White House. It was really cold, so we didn’t get to enjoy it liked I had hoped. However, now that we have a place to stay we plan on venturing back up in the spring.
On our way back we made our first trip to IKEA.
IKEA=AWESOME, IKEA WITH KIDS= NOT SO AWESOME.
Ikea is incredible, but having little ones who have to take a potty break every 20 minutes is no fun.
But all in all our DC trip was fun and again we are truly blessed to have such wonderful friends.
