Hi there! Welcome to the Luke & Ashley blog, a journal about our lives, our beautiful couples, and their stories we get to tell. Stay a while and do say hello if you please!
This romantic proposal at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens was so sweet to be apart of. With the busyness of weddings and engagements there were several sessions we did last year that we didn’t get around to blogging. This surprise proposal is one of them.
Edwin had it all planned out. A proposal at one of the most beautiful places in Norfolk, surrounded by the people that they most loved. It was going to be the most perfect day.
We all know what happens when we plan the most perfect day. Some obstacle or another tries to derail it.
Most people would panic especially when all the details were meticulously thought out. Fortunately, the botanical gardens has a greenhouse. Edwin’s plans were saved and everything unfolded perfectly.
We arrived to this sweet couples family setting up inside the greenhouse. Rose petals were laid out and poster boards were put in order. They rehearse their roles and these sweet moments right before were so much fun to witness.
Edwin told Yansiree that he had a surprise for her and she would have to be blindfolded. Little did he know that he had long walk and when there is rain and girl blindfolded… it’s a slow walk.
The two eventually made it to the greenhouse. The family started the music and the Edwin removed the blindfold. Yansiree soaked it in. Every minute and every detail. Carefully reading the poster boards her family held, tears came into her eyes as she realized what was happening. She turned to Edwin and found him on one knee asking her to be his wife.
Their family cheered and lots of happy tears were shed and plenty of hugs to go around. It was such a beautiful moment and all Luke and I could do was capture this sweet occasion and celebrate with them in their happiness.
The rain let up and Luke and I were able to take them outside in the Japanese Garden and take some just engaged portraits. It was our first time meeting them and yet they were so at ease just soaked up the moment. Yansiree was glowing with happiness and Edwin was thrilled to spend the rest of his life with this girl.
Luke & I love that we were able to be apart of this special moment. It is probably one of my favorite moments of 2017 because of the joy and excitement that we got to participate in.
Thank you to this beautiful couple and their families for having us and thank you to The Botanical Gardens for always providing us with such beautiful scenery and options for us!
