We woke up Sunday to FREEZING weather!

I will say again and again, that I am so over winter!  We didn’t get the rain or snow that some were anticipating and although freezing it was a beautiful day.  So this meant that our session with Adolfo and Kathryn were a go!

We met up with these two at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens.   We got there a little before our couple and decided to do some investigating.  We found out that there was a place indoors where we could take pictures.  This was perfect because it was so cold outside.  Well the problem was that we misunderstood where this place was.  So once our sweet couple got there we hopped on the tram and were on our way.  25 mins later we were back at the entrance where this place was… That was definitely not a highlight of the session!  However, these two were so gracious to us and we quickly made up for it in the warm tropical greenhouse!

I cannot stress enough how important engagement sessions are.

It is a time to get to know us and break the ice.  Not everyone is comfortable in front of the camera and the engagement session gets all that out before the wedding.  With Kathryn & Adolfo, I now know what kind of couple they are.  I know what makes them laugh and what does not work for them.  Everyone is different and doing this session with them helped us understand them and their relationship.

These two are so sweet and so good looking together!  Literally if we ever need models in the future I am going to beg them to come model for us!  In between our times of warmth in the tropical greenhouse, we made our way around the surrounding grounds and braved the cold.  Despite the cold, the gardens are blooming everywhere and it was fun to be able to capture that beauty in the beginning of March!

These two will be getting married on Cinco De Mayo this year!   Adolfo is Mexican and Kathryn is Filipino.  So I am so excited to see the cultures come together and of course the food!

Thank-you to these two cuties for having us!  We truly enjoyed our time with you and we cannot wait to celebrate with you both in the upcoming months!
