Hi there! Welcome to the Luke & Ashley blog, a journal about our lives, our beautiful couples, and their stories we get to tell. Stay a while and do say hello if you please!
The Coronavirus has really put a hold on everything. I am very grateful that all we can have to complain about is rescheduled weddings. We have our health, family, and emergency fund! ( Thank you Dave Ramsey!)
Right before this all happened we were able to get some gorgeous DC Cherry Blossom engagement photos with Jacob & Evangeline. Jacob works for the park service so getting the permits were easy for him. But honestly, I think this was the one time we didn’t need permits to shoot photos in DC! There were no park rangers working, and hardly anyone was out and about!
Normally I have to photoshop people out of photos so it doesn’t look so crazy and distracting! Especially at the memorials. I believe this is the first session in DC where I did not have to do that! We couldn’t believe it! It was kinda eerie to be honest!
Jacob & Evangeline are seriously so so sweet! Their wedding is one of the ones that have not been rescheduled due to COVID-19 and Luke and I cannot wait to celebrate them at the Williamsburg Inn. Their wedding will be on the smaller scale thanks to the coronavirus but that doesn’t mean it won’t be a BIG celebration! Their wedding is going to be absolutely perfect and will be mean some kind of normalcy after all this uncertainty lately.
Not only did we get some cherry blossom engagement photos but we also were able to visit the Lincoln Memorial. Now there were still several people at the memorial so we took them to the back and that is where the magic happened. We had so much fun getting to know them, playing some games and getting some incredible sunset photos with the Washington Memorial. Their session was a dream DC engagement session!
Their wedding is quickly approaching and we cannot wait to see them again at the Williamsburg Inn! In the meantime enjoy these gorgeous DC photos!

[…] This couple was such a fun beautiful couple to work with. We originally met them at their engagement session in DC. Their session happened right before the Coronavirus hit and we lucked out with having almost all of DC empty during the cherry blossoms in season! I don’t think we will ever get that opportunity again! Their DC engagement session can be found here. […]
