Chrysler Museum of Art Norfolk Va Wedding

Today I am sharing another wedding!  This time at the beautiful Chrysler Museum in Norfolk Virginia!

This is the second wedding we shot at the Chrysler located in downtown Norfolk!  This wedding, in particular, was especially fun to challenge ourselves and try new things!  The museum offered some amazing backdrops and the colors from this wedding were so unique to play with.  An alluring lovely museum wedding with lots of sparkles and glam made all the wedding dreams come true for our gorgeous bride and her groom. The Chrysler Museum of Art Norfolk Va is quickly becoming a favorite venue in the heart of Norfolk, Virginia.

Tyler & Ashley…

What a pair!  Watching not only the couple celebrate their vows but also seeing their two families come together as one was a treat to watch.  These families have known one another for a while and their paths crossed long before they even realized.  As the father of the groom gave his speech, he mentioned having Ashley’s father in one of his classes when he was teaching early on in his career.  He didn’t know it then, but one day they would be family.  I was so caught up in the stories and montage video they played that I had to keep reminding myself to keep shooting!

Their wedding was seriously such a sweet event to witness and Luke and I could feel the love in that room.

Portraits among the contemporary art of the museum.

Despite being in September, the day was pretty warm.  With a dress and tux to think of, we made the call to do the portraits inside among the beautiful art that the museum had to offer.  The lighting proved to be a little challenging and we definitely had to step out of our comfort zone a few times, but looking through these images, I love how they came out and I think that it represents their day perfectly.  I especially love the dramatic image of Tyler and Ashley in front of a gorgeous work of art that seems to envelop them both. A big thank you to the Jane at the Chrysler for being so willing to work with us and letting us get these portraits done with such a big group!

A Big Suprise

Hampton Roads offers some amazing venues.  The one thing that is so unique to the Chrysler museum though is the beautiful setup that faces the double stairs.  It is absolutely gorgeous for any wedding ceremony.  The couple’s ceremony took place in the evening.  As guests were gathering to their seats and the bridal party were getting ready, we were anticipating a big surprise.  About a week prior to the date, Ashley emailed us excitedly and told us that Tyler’s dad would be officiating the wedding.  No one knew.  Tyler is close with his dad and it was an extra special touch on their day that meant a lot to the couple.

The guests were all blown away and Tyler’s sister couldn’t contain her surprise.  It was such a joy to watch it all unfold.

Tyler & Ashley, we absolutely adore you guys.  From the moment we met you two and Louie a year ago at Fort Monroe, we instantly liked you.  Your love for one another and your friends and family is so encouraging.  The wedding was fun and something I know you looked forward to.  However, what I loved most is that you didn’t let the stress of planning get to you.  You kept the main thing the main thing and you both were a breath of fresh air!

We wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and Frenchies!
