Hi there! Welcome to the Luke & Ashley blog, a journal about our lives, our beautiful couples, and their stories we get to tell. Stay a while and do say hello if you please!
I am so behind on sharing our engagement sessions as well as some other fun stuff we have been doing on the blog. We have been changing some stuff around so hopefully, I can catch up and share our awesome adventures and people we have been able to meet!
If you have never been to Libby Hill, I recommend you go. The Church Hill neighborhood, which is the oldest neighborhood in Richmond, overlooks the city and has one of the greatest views in the area. The homes were so quaint and inviting. We took advantage of the steps and sidewalks that were available to us during the photo shoot. Luke and I will definitely be making our way back to this historic Richmond region for more sessions in the future!
Luke and I enjoyed our time with them so much. It is not often that we get a couple who have literally known one another almost their whole entire lives. In Gabby’s words…
“We met while he was in kindergarten and I was in first grade. We grew up in neighborhoods right next to one another so we went to the same elementary school. His parent’s house is right down the street from my elementary best friend. I don’t specifically remember the first time we met, he’s just always kind of been there.”
These two have been friends for almost their entire lives. What an incredible story.
I love hearing our couples proposal stories. They are all unique and some of them completely crazy! Cory and Gabby’s proposal story is one of the sweetest and full of everything that is meaningful to this couple… Family.
“We had been talking about marriage for a few years but never really put serious thought into it until we moved to Omaha together in July 2017. Once we got here we started talking seriously about getting engaged and ring budget and all of those fun conversations. About a month after we moved here we were going to go on a large family vacation in Alabama with my entire extended family. We are all very close and it’s a big yearly event so it’s pretty meaningful to me. Before we left for vacation we had looked at rings once and he told me that he wanted to ask my parents in person, so at some point during the week, I had to get my sister out of the house so that he could ask them without interruptions. I got her out of the house with my younger cousin and we ran to the store so that he had time to ask them. When we got back to the house it was empty, and my sister suggested they all might be out on the beach to have a fire. When we walked out onto the porch my entire family was out on the beach and they’d set up candles down the pier and in the sand. Cory was standing at the bottom in front of all of these candles with my family in the background. Although I have no memory at all about what he said 🙂 he asked me to marry him and as I said yes, completely by happenstance, a pier down the beach from our house set of fireworks! My entire family was there with us, we were on the beach, there were candles and fireworks, it was absolutely perfect.”
These two sweethearts will be getting married next year at the Mill at Fine Creek. Funny story… Luke and I have never shot at the Mill at Fine Creek and for 2019 we have 3 weddings there! It is a gorgeous venue and Luke and I are looking forward to celebrating these two alongside their families!
Sharing some of our favorites from their gorgeous session at Libby Hill Park.
