As I sit here writing this blog, it is raining.

It seems like that is all that it has done for like the past month! The weather sure didn’t let up for Jimmy & Kate’s wedding day either! Driving to Blue Valley Vineyard and Winery from Newport News it was pretty much a torrential downpour the whole time! During the drive, we were mentally prepping ourselves for this rainy day wedding. Once we arrived we were greeted with such high spirits and high energy. Kate made sure that the rain didn’t damper one of the most important days in her life and I fell in love with her energy and attitude.

Blue Valley Winery is seriously such a gorgeous place. It is so picturesque and even with the rain, it was stunning. We knew that outdoor pictures were going to be few and far between. Luckily the winery has a beautiful cellar where we were able to do the first look as well as all the formal pictures. Thankfully, we know how to use off-camera lighting because we basically needed it the whole day. It was good to be challenged a little and we couldn’t have asked for a better couple to work with. It worked out beautifully and the bride and groom were smitten with one another!

I love the way these two are together.

They are like two puzzle pieces that fit perfectly together. Both perfectly complimenting the other. Jimmy is a quiet and reserved guy who you can tell articulates and thinks deeply. His love runs deep with his family and friends and of course his bride. Kate is bubbly, energetic, and oh so caring and kind. Together, they make an incredible team and they are surrounded by so many who love and cheer them on.

These two have known one another since the 7th grade. They shared a science class together and eventually became friends. I love hearing stories like theirs. I think there is something to be said to grow up together. To have that kind of history and shared experiences in life is so special and unique. I know that they will continue to cherish that always.

Jimmy and Kate danced the night away underneath the twinkling lights at the reception.

One thing I absolutely love about this venue is on the second floor. We always go up to the top and shoot down on the party. I love these shots because they are fun and give such a different perspective! I also might have a solo dance party up there as well. ( If you follow along with our insta-stories you would know what I am talking about!)

I cannot thank these two enough for inviting us along to capture their incredible day. Luke and I loved being surrounded by so much love and excitement. Kate and Jimmy, you two are an incredible team. We cannot wait to see your family grow and all the good things coming your way. We absolutely adore you both and thank you for having us! Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness!
