As we turned in toward the town of Bryson City, North Carolina, I immediately fell in love.  The quaint little town surrounded by the beautiful smoky mountains and a railroad running through it made it feel like we belonged in an old western movie.  Some of the original buildings from the early 1900’s are still standing today which make it even more picturesque.

Our trip to North Carolina took us almost 10 hours!  Normally it is an 8 hour drive, but with 3 kids who have small bladders, it took us 10!  However, the drive was pretty and my hubby is great company, so I can’t complain.  (Except all the tailgating he did…but that’s a different blog post)!

The reason for the trip was to see my sister and meet her boyfriend Paul.  I hadn’t seen my sister in a year 1/2 and I surely did miss her!  You can see more of our actual trip here.  Another reason was to get some pictures of them together.  She had been wanting to get a session done and we found the perfect opportunity!

However, there was one downfall….It rained.  Not just for an hour or two….No.  It rained all day…all night…and all the next day.  So what did we do???

We ventured out into the rain of course!  We used our umbrellas, stood under coverings, and when it let up for a little bit, we jumped out and got some fun pictures!

I love how they brought Auggie, their puppy.  Although she wasn’t very interested in getting her picture taken, she was pretty cute.

I loved the dress my sister picked out….The blue was very classy and paired well with Paul’s more casual look.  She is so gorgeous!  Wish she was closer…I would have her model for me ALL THE TIME!

I am so glad that I had to opportunity to do this.  Paul is a great guy and it was awesome getting to meet him.  I hope next time I see them there will be wedding bells in the future…(hint…hint).
