This session was near and dear to my heart.  This is why we do what we do.  Its all about the people that we meet…

and it so sweet when those people become  dear friends.

Last year I shot Shannon & Matts Wedding.  It was a small backyard ceremony and the only communication I had with them was through email was with Matt.

So I can tell you I was Nervous!  And then, it was just me!  Luke would not be joining me…So I was very NERVOUS!  lol.

Well they had a torrential downpour on their wedding day!  And so there was only so much I could do and I didn’t get to meet the family too much because I wasn’t there for too long.

 A week later Luke and I both met up with them again and did another session and they got beautiful pictures at Yorktown Beach.

It was so much fun spending the day with them and just getting to know them.

Since that time Shannon and I have stayed in contact and she has truly become such a cheerleader for us and such an encourager.

She probably doesn’t know it but she really has been such a blessing to me.  🙂

So of course I was honored that we could do her family pictures.  She said all 4 generations were going to be together this past weekend and it was important that we get everyone together.

We met at Newport News Park and began.  I laughed more on the inside than I did the outside when Shannon warned everyone and said ” Listen, Ashley is a good wholesome Christian,! “

Yes I do Love Jesus, but if she only knew my family and where I came from.

I absolutely loved her family.  The chaos, the jokes, and rowdiness.  The love, the close knit, and the laughter and bickering….That is family.

This family is going through some tough things right now…so they will be in my prayers.

I don’t know what lies before them, but I know that they are going to get through it all because they have each other to lean on.
