Hi there! Welcome to the Luke & Ashley blog, a journal about our lives, our beautiful couples, and their stories we get to tell. Stay a while and do say hello if you please!
2020
A year like no other. I still remember sitting down with some incredible entrepreneurs while we planned and dreamed about our year. I cannot help but laugh because nothing that we meticulously planned came to pass. That doesn’t mean good things still didn’t come our way, it just looked different than what we expected and we had to find ways to get creative.
This has been the same for literally everyone. None of us could have prepared for a year like this.
Our hearts have gone out to our couples. Those who planned a wedding and then had to pivot their plans. Either by postponing to the following year or making adjustments so they could follow through with their original date.
Their original plan was to get married in Tuscany! Because of COVID, their dream wedding was just not going to happen. I can only imagine how heartbreaking this was. They still wanted to get married and even though it didn’t look like they had hoped these two were determined to make it special.
Now this is where we go creative.
With most of our weddings either canceling or postponing we had to get creative on how to keep shooting and generating income while staying within the confines of the mandates from our local government. We teamed us with some local vendors to create a package that would not only be affordable for couples going through all of this, but also keep us busy. With the help of the Williamsburg Winery, Wedding Co. of Williamsburg, and the rest of our incredible team mentioned below we were able to create an intimate Williamsburg Winery Wedding for Joe & Mel.
I mean the winery is nice but it is not Tuscany!
However, it was the complete opposite. Joe & Mel were so excited and thrilled that were getting married! They decided to make the best of it and because of their perspective their day was so beautiful. Mel opted to have some fun with her dress and instead of wearing her original wedding dress, she bought a fun pink dress to wear. They laughed, danced, and had the best time despite the circumstances. I learned a lot from them that day and I am blessed that we were able to be apart of their day.
Sharing some of our favorites from their perfect day.
Lastly, Thank you to this incredible team who came together, got creative, and created some magic. So incredibly lucky to call you friendors!
