Hi there! Welcome to the Luke & Ashley blog, a journal about our lives, our beautiful couples, and their stories we get to tell. Stay a while and do say hello if you please!
So I wanted to take my kids pictures with them all dressed up…They looked so cute.Until we got on location…They then put on their best frowns and mad faces…All of them….
What to do? Well since I am their mommy, I can sweet talk them, threaten them, and if that doesn’t work just go with it. And that’s what I did. Olivia gave me the same posed smile with head tilt that she does every time she sees the camera, Bri just wanted to be in princess unicorn land, and Ryan wanted to beat the parcel in the dirt….hmmm..
By the end I think I was even more frustrated than the kids. I was planning this lovely shoot with them and it did not go my way. I was not expecting very many “good ones.”
Well once I loaded them up and looked at them, I smiled. They are my children…My beautiful children that God has given me and I am blessed. Each picture captured “them.” Their uniqueness, their beauty, and their innocence. I am one happy momma.
I look at these pictures and it reminds me of the small things we take for granted, the everyday things, the innocence, the purity, the love.
Today I am reflecting on the love that Christ had for me. I am so undeserving of what he did for me and yet he did it freely and so lovingly. Because of him I have life that is full of blessings and full of love.
As my passion and love for photography continues to grow, I want to capture these times that are so pure and innocent. These pictures are a reminder of what I need to hold onto when the distractions of life come. We need to hold onto this life that God has so graciously given us and be grateful for the little things that bring so much joy to our hearts.
