So this week we re-launched ourselves as Luke and Ashley photography.  It is nice to step away from J&L.  Dabbling here and there in everything and not sure what we were doing and where we were going.  It feels good to finally have a foundation  to build upon.

So where do we go from here?  Well we have to first start with dreams. Once we put our dreams down then we can make goals to reach those dreams.  Dreams are always hard to share.  The reason is because when we share we become vulnerable.  What if they don’t come true?  Then everyone will know…..

But I have come to realize what is the point of having dreams if you don’t share?  Also, sharing pushes you to set those goals to achieve your dreams.

So here goes…

1) To be debt free-  This is a big one for us.  A couple of years ago and dumb decisions put us in a bad predicament…DEBT.  Thankfully we came across Dave Ramsey and we have been following his plan and we are almost there…There is a light at the end of the tunnel.  We are very passionate about this.  The bible says that you are slave to the lender and we truly believe this.  We were made to walk in freedom in all aspects and debt is not freedom.  So that is our biggest dream and one that we are pushing hardest at right now.

2) To do 25 weddings next year.  This would be a HUGE jump for us and we are ready.  (At least we think we are 🙂 )  We are praying not for any couple, but for couples that get us and we get them.  For couples that we can connect with and bless.

3) Our biggest dream and that can seem out of reach is to go full time.  We live in an area that is overrun with photographers.  So it can be hard to stand out against the masses.  Also, we still have to build our skills as well as know the ins and outs of running a business.  Being a successful photographer is mostly knowing how to successfully run a business.  And I will admit that we still have lots to learn.

So those right now are our dreams.  I am sure some will change and we might have new ones, but now that I have written them down and shared with you I have given us accountability.  I will be writing another blog post on our goals and plans on reaching our dreams.
