As the wind is blowing in through the windows from the remnants of hurricane Arthur… (which did nothing here),
I am enjoying this peaceful day and so very thankful to all those who have gone before me for this beautiful country I live in.
Last week Georgia from Unearthed and I finally got to see our vision in place for our 4th of July Styled Shoot. I will be honest with you, it was a CRAZY day! I don’t know how many times I had to turn around and come home because I forgot something! With each styled shoot we do, we are learning more and more!
And yet, even through all the chaos, everything came together beautifully just like we had envisioned.
So before I share, I have to give some credit where credit is due! We knew that we wanted airplanes in the back as a setting. And everywhere we called either said no, or wanted to charge us a crazy fee that we could not pay!
And then we stumbled upon Becky. Becky is in charge of all events and I think anything else they give her at Hampton Roads Executive Airport.
She is the go to girl and gets things done. We were excited that when we asked to use their facility she said yes! And then when we went to scope out the location, her hospitality and willingness to help us just shined through. She is such a doll and I do hope we can work with her again.
Without her, I don’t think this shoot would have made it out of my living room.
Another huge Thank-You is to my models! I met Joey and Kelli through a mutual friend this past winter.
They showed up when I was doing a snow shoot. I didn’t really get to chat with them because I was running around like crazy.
Throughout the process of finding the right people for this shoot I happened to come across their pictures from the winter shoot. And when I saw her picture I knew she was the one!
She has that natural old time beauty that is just so unique.
When I contacted them they were down and such awesome sports! Seriously loved them and now they are becoming good friends! How awesome is that?
And of course there is Georgia who I don’t know why puts up with my crazy antics. We are thinking of starting a blog just for our adventures! They are pretty hilarious!
For this shoot we really wanted a vintage feel and yet still showcase our patriotism as well as the military. Good thing we had access to a flight suit for the AirForce!
