Don’t you just love meeting people that you have common ground with?

Say you realize you went to the same school or you have a mutual friend.  Finding things out like that always makes interesting and fun conversation.

When Kristy messaged me about their unique situation I definitely understood!  Luke & I had been in the same place 12 years ago!  Dzajic and Kristy are active duty Air Force.  He is stationed here at Langley and she is across the country stationed in Vegas.  They met… fell in love… and are ready to start their lives together.  However, something sits between them and that is something is the Air Force.  They decided to get married and forego a traditional wedding.  That would only prolong things and these two have been apart long enough.  So Kristy flew out the day before Valentines Day.  They went to the Justice Of The Peace on Tuesday to make it official.

Hearing their story and being around them definitely brought back some memories!  I remember going to the Justice of the Peace and the following Monday submitting my paperwork to get my orders changed from Texas to Virginia.  We too got married in the winter in Alaska!!!

I love that although they decided to keep it simple, they still wanted to document this special time in their lives.  So that is where we came in!

Valentines Day…. It was FREEZING!!!

And yet this family jumps out of the truck ready to go!  Kirsty was so brave bearing the cold in her dress!  And she looked absolutely stunning!  I love the vintage headpiece she wore and her dress was so beautiful!

These two literally made the cold all worth it and I just loved getting to know them and hearing more of their story!

They made it official Tuesday and now they wait on orders.  I pray it moves quickly in their favor!
