So things have been quiet around here. Not intentionally at first. Let me explain….
After Christmas It was time to write up my January Blog schedule. I do this because it helps to plan what I am going to write about for the month and it helps me keep organized and on track. (I need all the help I can get)! So I did this and I felt accomplished. I had 3 Blog post topics a week! I was set….Or so I thought.
January 6, Luke and I decided to enter in to a Daniel’s Fast with our church. This was a 21 days of prayer and fasting. We have fasted before and have learned that in these times God really does speak to us and it helps us to get focused on what’s important. And what better way to start off the year? Well January 6 was also a Monday, and I had a Blog post due that day. And yet even though I had a topic…Fairly simple, I wasn’t motivated. I just didn’t feel like doing it. So Monday with no post turned into that week with no posts. During the 2nd week I started to feel guilty. May sound silly, but I hate when I say I am going to do something and don’t do it….(Even when it’s to myself).
By the end of the 2nd week, I really felt like God wanted me to take a rest from the business. Other than responding back to emails, and little things, I began to just step back. And what a wonderful feeling it was. I needed the rest. I needed to recharge and refocus on what’s important. My marriage, my kids, my home.
Now don’t get me wrong. We are not going anywhere….In fact I am re-charged and ready for what 2014 has to bring! We are praying for an Awesome year! We are praying for couples who like to have fun and are just as excited as we are for their wedding and all that comes along with it!
So I just wanted to say, sometimes when pursuing your dreams it can become overwhelming and tiring….And it’s okay to step back…..It’s okay to rest. Just be sure to Never Give Up!
And on a side note….I am really enjoying this morning with my hot cup of coffee…..21 days without my coffee sure makes me appreciate the little things! 🙂
