There is something so meaningful about a small backyard wedding ceremony.

This small backyard wedding was such a special celebration. We were originally not supposed to be there. However, due to unforseen circumstances our family was able to join in the celebration and capture this beautiful moment. Luke and I are truly grateful that we were able to me here because it was truly a very sweet evening.

Located just minutes from our house, Luke and I arrived to a little house surrounded by arrays of beautiful flowers. Sunflowers lined one side of the house and made for a cheery welcome. I couldn’t believe the colors and beauty this little house held!

Rich in history.

David and Jessica decided to have a simple backyard wedding. The ceremony was to take place right in front of the old inn her grandfather used to use for guests and missionaires. The home had been in their family for years and had meant so much to Jessica.

One thing that stood out to me the most was what Jessica said to me as we were preparing the details of the day. I asked about what was important to her. She said the people. Not the things. We see all the time in wedding magazines and pinterest how brides get so caught up in all the details. This is not a bad thing, but the ones you love will always be more important then the pretty little things.

Family is everything.

While Jessica was getting ready in the house, I loved watching her grandmother. The excitement and stolen glances to her granddaughters were priceless. I actually found myself getting choked up at one moment just being in that room with them. The love for one another was so tangible and that kind of relationship is not common. It was seriously a joy watching them interact. Looking through these images you can tell family is everything to these two and how great it is that they would be joined together to create an even stronger bond.

Thank you David and Jessica. You two have incredible families and we absolutely loved being apart of your special celebration. We wish you both nothing but love and happiness.
