It was an incredibly cold and rainy morning this past Sunday.  We had an engagement session on the books and I was starting to doubt if it was going to happen.

And then that afternoon the skies began to clear.  It was still cold…. but it was pretty!  I talked to Ashley and we decided to give it a go!

I am so glad we did!

We arrived at her house a little before she got there.  Her Dad greeted us at the door.   He said he had been looking through Ashley’s baby book prior to us arriving so forgive him if he seemed a little out of sorts….

That touched my heart.

Dads are the best.  Especially if you have a good one.  And I knew right then that Ashley had a good one.  I know their wedding day will be one filled with happy tears when he walks her down the aisle.

It is moments like these that make me LOVE being a wedding photographer.

They have a beautiful piece of property in Newport News.  I didn’t even know where they lived even existed!  They have a lovely pier and plenty of land for us to shoot for hours!

Shawn & Ashley are too cute!  They have been together for 7 years.  Since High School.  All these young high school sweethearts are getting married!  I LOVE it!

Again, these two are so sweet together.  Although it was very very cold, these two made it worth while to venture out!  Luke & I LOVED getting to know them and capture this special moment in their lives!
