Alturia farm is one of our favorite venues in the Richmond area. A gorgeous farm surrounded by beautiful and friendly horses and picturesque landscape. The site is owned by a husband and wife team that pours their heart and soul into the venue and every couple that gets married there. I know that our couples are taken care of when they pull up to Alturia Farm, and that makes our hearts so happy.
I don’t think I have met a couple sweeter than Eli and Rebekah.
They are some of the most genuine people I have ever come across. Then I met their families, and all we can say is wow. We now understand that they get it from their parents.”
Luke and I met them for the first time during their engagement session in Richmond. We had so much fun exploring the capital and Belle Isle. I remember getting into the car after our time with them and looking at Luke and telling him, ” I really really liked them.” We had such a good time at their engagement session that I was genuinely excited to see them again at their wedding.
They had an elegant farm wedding with lots of sentimental touches.
Having a wedding on a farm might not seem that elegant. However, Alturia Farm has elevated this concept and proven that you can have a beautiful farm wedding. Not only was their wedding beautiful but also full of special touches that represented not only their relationship but also their loved ones.
One special touch was that Rebekah wore her mother’s dress. She had the dress altered, but it is the same dress, and it was stunning on her! I love that she brought a picture of a bridal portrait of her mother. It was perfect.
With 30 plus weddings a year, it is easy to think of a wedding day as another job. However, we really push ourselves to think beyond that. It might be number 15 for us for the year, but it is the first day of the rest of their lives for them. It is the day they start their lives together. The wedding day is the day mom and dad hand over their beautiful daughter to her new husband. It is a big day for all, and we feel honored that we get to be there for that. We don’t take those moments for granted.
There are key moments at every wedding that stick out to me.
When I think about our couples, certain moments during the wedding day always stand out. The moment that touched me during Eli and Rebekah’s wedding was the father-daughter dance. Watching her dad dance with his beloved daughter had me bawling behind the camera. When you witness those incredible bonds, it’s so hard sometimes to contain the emotions. Thank goodness there are two of us because Luke was able to hold it together lol.
Thank you, Eli and Rebekah, for having us. You two make such an incredible team, and we look forward to watching your family grow. We love you guys and wish you nothing but a lifetime of love and happiness!
