A Letter To My Daughters

A Letter To My Daughters

This Blog Post is a little different.  But none the less definitely a very important piece of my heart.

A letter to my daughters… ( And all the other girls who need this).

Olivia & Bri… I look at you and watch you every day.  You have such an innocence that I wish you would never let go of. The way you two laugh and joke.  The way you dance as if no one is watching.  The way your imagination roams with excitement and curiosity.

I find myself wishing very often that I could just pause time and keep you just as you are.

But how selfish would that be of me???

You see you were born for such a time as this.  You were born with destiny and a future.  You were born with a purpose that is so much bigger than I could even imagine.

You each have unique and special gifts.  From your kindness to your discernment.  God has made you in his image and has given you an identity that is worth far more than what this world could offer.

I cannot wait to see what this life has for you.   I cannot wait to see your dreams unfold and the women you become.  I am so fortunate that God called me to be your mom.

Lately as I watch you two dream of your future, dreaming of becoming the next Taylor Swift and Gabby Douglas.  I cannot help but think the plans that God has for you.  Maybe you will supersede these amazing women.

Or just maybe you will blaze your own trail.

No matter the path you choose… The one thing that I want you to know far more than anything else in this world…

Is that you are loved with an everlasting love.

You see I remember when I first loved you.  I loved you when that pregnancy test came back positive.  I loved you when I heard your heartbeat for the very first time.  I loved you when I saw your profile on the ultrasound screen.  I loved you when I found out I was having a girl.  I loved you when I held you in my arms for the first time.

There was a beginning to my love.

But there is someone who has loved you since the beginning of time.

Your father in heaven formed you and created you with purpose.  He loves you with an everlasting love.  Nothing you do could ever take his love from you.  There is no beginning and no end to his perfect love.

In this world we are taught that love is an emotion.  Love is how we feel.  There is nothing more wrong than this thought.

Love is action.  Love is not based on how we feel.  Love is a decision.

God is love.  His love for you was the most sacrificing kind.  His love was the act on the cross and beyond.  He loves you deeper than even a mothers love could reach.

I want you to know that you are unique.  You are different.  You are a daughter of the King.

You remind me daily that it is okay not to play by the rules.

It’s okay to break out in song and dance and it’s okay to dream bigger than what makes sense to the natural eye.

Stay true to yourself girls.  No matter what society says…. Stay true to who God called you to be.

You were born for such a time as this and the love of God will direct your path and light the way if you just follow him.

Excited for whats ahead,

-Love Your Mom-
